Corporate portraits

Preparing for our shoot in Hillingdon tomorrow with the Board of #ACS International Schools and we have this stunning Grade II listed mansion as our backdrop ! #corporatephotography

“Rubbish 1986BP” (before Photoshop)

In 1986, if a client asked you to shoot a cross-section of a dustbin full of rubbish,

you went out and bought a dustbin, cut it in half and filled it full of rubbish !

Energy saving lighting comes to Imperial College

Recent shoot for a lighting controls client in the Dyson Building at Imperial College London.

The brief was to capture the application of their environmental lighting control system, in particular to illustrate the system’s ability to balance between daylight and artificial light levels in the public areas of the building. Careful light and colour temperature balancing was required throughout to ensure that the client ended up with exactly the images they needed for promotion in industry publications.

National Apprentice Week 2019

Had the pleasure of meeting and photographing these amazing young apprentices last week as par of an ongoing programme for East Hants District Council’s Economic Development Team.

These young people are getting on-the-job training as estate agents, electronics engineers, paralegals and joiners. What a great way to kick-start a career !

Les Miserables

Delighted to be commissioned to photograph this truly stunning production of Les Miserables at Churcher’s College Petersfield.

Conference photography

Just a small flavour of last week’s conference coverage at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, for Thomson Reuters Legal.

Presentations, break-out groups, networking and an evening awards dinner.

It was a long day, but made so much easier by working with a genuinely lovely bunch of people.

A picture’s worth a thousand words (or 5,263 views !)

Firstly, I didn’t plan this picture. I knew HMS Queen Elizabeth was due to return on 10th December and as we were planning to visit Haslar Marina to check the boat I threw a camera in the back of the car in case the opportunity arose to get a few stock images for our library. I shot a few frames as she cleared the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour and then published one on LinkedIn. I normally have several hundred views when I publish a picture, but by the end of the first day I was already up to 400 views. This climbed day-by-day until it finally reached 5,263 views. I don’t know if it was the ship or my hashtags #marine #defence #navy, but it’s my most viewed picture to date, proving that the right combination of image and keywords on LinkedIn is a very good way to attract attention to your business.

Chinook flight simulator

Challenging conditions inside the Chinook Mk6 Synthetic Flight Training Simulator at RAF Odiham today. Very low light levels and a lot of vibration.

Grateful that we packed one of our small #Manfrotto LED lights to fill in as using flash was out of the question !

Two faces of Remembrance

Taken at today’s Remembrance Sunday service in Petersfield, where the young and the old came out together to remember…

Editorial portraits

Editorial portraits are always an interesting challenge and if the opportunity arises to come away with more than just headshots we take it ! Here are just a few of the images we achieved in a one hour shoot with this charismatic entrepreneur…
